美國紐約州立大學水牛城分校退休華裔物理學榮譽教授林良多（Duo-Liang Lin）在美國《華盛頓郵報》上發表了一首英文詩《你們究竟要我們怎樣生存？》，隨後在互聯網上熱傳並引起中西方網友熱議。這首詩表達了許多美籍華人長期以來內心的壓抑和憤慨，因此被評論為是多年來受到雙重標準困擾的海外華人向西方偏見“射出的一記利箭”。該詩全文翻譯如下：

“Why do you hate us so much﹖”we asked.

“No,” you answered, “we don't hate you.”

We don't hate you either, but, do you understand us?

“Of course we do, ”you said, “We have AFP, CNN and BBC's ……”
